Honors Lab Presentation Project: Write Up
Before Your Demonstration:
- Provide your demonstration procedures in list form on the day of your presentation.
After Your Demonstration: Write your project up in this form.
- Due within 1 week of presenting your demonstration.
- Needs to be typed, double spaced, and written in a 12 point, easy to read font for the majority of the write up. (Certainly you can go larger for titles and headings)
- Write up your lab demonstration in four parts.
Part 1 Preparation for your demonstration.
- Where did you find your demonstration. Include sources.
- How did you divide up the work for your demonstration between lab partners (if you had one).
- List the chemicals you used in your demonstration.
- List the hazards associated with each of these chemicals. (see Mr. King for chemical references books or the Flinn link)
- List the mixing and measuring procedures along with your safety precautions.
- List disposal procedures for the chemicals you will be left with after the demonstration.
Part 2 Demonstration Procedures: How did you present it to the class.
***Provide a copy of the list before you present to the class.
- Information you present to the class before the demonstration.
- Demonstration procedures. How are you going to do it, describe in detail. Make this a list.
- Information you present to the class after the demonstration.
Part 3 Chemical Reactions
- Write out the chemical reactions of your demonstration in both words and in the form of chemical equations.
Part 4 Self Evaluation.
- How did it work out: Describe in detail.
- What could you have done to make this go better.
- List 3 or more things you learned from your presentation.
